Summer Project - My Best Day.
Please write about the best day that you have during the Summer holidays.
It could be a day out to visit friends or family, a day where you celebrate a birthday, a day where you visit a museum or famous place, a day where you go to the beach or a day where you stay at home and enjoy your garden!
We would like you to write at least three sentences about your day and draw a picture to illustrate it.
Thank you and enjoy your holiday!

Dear Parents and carers,
I am so proud of all the children's effort with making their own number bond poem. They are fantastic! I have kept the copies of the poems, as the children will be performing their poems next week.
Please keep an eye out on our class page for some amazing performances.
It is very important at this stage that your children know the number bonds for 10 and 20. We have been learning the following number bond poem in Numeracy. Have some fun with number bonds by making a poem of your own!
0 and 10 are big strong men
1 and 9 are feeling fine
2 and 8 are never late
3 and 7 come from Devon
4 and 6 like to play tricks
5 and 5 come alive
6 and 4 hold open the door
7 and 3 visit for tea
8 and 2 are feeling blue
9 and 1 have just gone
10 and 0 are superheroes
NUMERACY HOMEWORK FOR SUMMER TERM, WEEK 1.
This week in Numeracy we have been learning about reading numbers as words. We focused on reading and writing the numbers 1-20 in digits and words. We also worked in pairs to play a game where we had to find a number on the 100 square.
To consolidate this work, here are two games that you can play with your child:
Year 1 Team.
Dear Year 1 Parents,
We are now into the second part of the Autumn term and as mentioned in ‘Meet the Teacher’ the children will be receiving homework on a weekly basis.
The homework will consist of:
The numeracy and spellings will have instructions/rules of how to complete it. Please help your child by modelling and using visual aids if needed. Remember it is their homework and a way of increasing their academic independence and confidence.
If you have any questions about the homework, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
Year 1 Team
