Each week, 4H undertake a mental maths test. The test is timed: we have 5 seconds for the first 5 questions and 10 seconds for the following 5 questions. At the end of the test, we have to hold our books in the air as soon as Miss Hawkins tells us to stop, to show that we haven't gone over the 10 seconds. We have become so good at this, that we wanted to video the end of our test so our parents can see. We're like well-trained soldiers! Below is the video, are you impressed?
Here is this week's literacy homework. It is due in on Wednesday, 17th June.
Reminder: Your Ancient Egypt project is due in on Wednesday, 17th June too.
The Year 3 and 4 winners of the 2015 Mayor's Writing Award. Well done girls!
Year 4 has taken part in the annual Walker Cook-Off. 5 members of 4H and 6 members of 4B designed their own healthy dishes and prepared their meals for the judges. Each child had a sous chef to assist them. (A parent!) Miss Hawkins enjoyed tasting every dish. The judges were Mrs Salmon, Miss Malone, Mr Dawson and 3 members of the cookery club from year 6. We all had a great afternoon! A huge thank you to Ms Lauder and Mrs Salmon for all their hard work organising such a great event. Don't our meals look delicious?
4H took part in a 'Happy Puzzle' workshop this afternoon. We worked in teams of six to try and solve the different puzzles - Miss Hawkins was really impressed with our teamwork. Here are some pictures of us: some where we look confused, some where we are triumphant!
4H have been playing with the ducklings. We all had the chance to observe them on the ground and in water and then hold one if we wanted to. Aren't they cute?
