Wednesday 20th May 2015 - Fluffy Visitors in Year 5!
This morning, we enjoyed the company of the ducklings (kindly lent to us by the Reception classes).
All of the children loved holding, watching and stroking them!
In particular, Deren, Thomas, Roshan, Jennifer and Celia really took a shine to them (as you can clearly see from the pictures below) - the chicks were even falling asleep in their laps!
We definitely have some future vets in the making...
Monday 18th May - Summary of our trip to Warner Bros Studios
5G (including myself) all thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Warner Bros Studios on Monday!
What a full, fun-packed day: looking around all of the real sets and props used in the films; taking part in a fantastic and informative film pitching lesson (including seeing the mask used for Hagrid's head and his massive trousers!); particpating in wand/spell lessons; and last but not least, viewing the amazing model of Hogwarts castle!
There is also a photograph slideshow beneath, giving you a clearer view of what we experienced during the trip. I even managed to get into a few of the photos - very excitedly, I must admit!
All in all, it definitely was a trip to remember!
(Jennifer and Hannah also wrote a summary of their day at the Studios):
Harry Potter Studios was amazing. First, we all went to a workshop and learnt about film pitching (we had to write a 25 word film pitch). We were in groups so our class split up. We had our Harry Potter passports and had fun stamping and finding the golden snitches. We looked around all the props and my group had a useful wand lesson. Next we went to see the Hogwarts express and Diagon Alley. Later we saw the largest model of Hogwarts ever made which took 40 days to make (IT WAS MASSIVE)!
Our trip to Harry Potter Studios was very amusing. Once we arrived, we watched a short clip summarising each film and saw how they developed the sets. We all had a fun literacy workshop where we learnt how to pitch ideas (in just 25 words too!). After, we split up into our groups and explored the rest of the sets and props. Throughout the trip, we had activities to answer to keep us busy and we even got our own Harry Potter passport to take home as a souvenir. My favourite part of the trip was the amazing model of Hogwarts that we saw at the end!
