It was lovely to meet you all properly yesterday and I'm really looking forward to teaching you in September. Here's the summer project letter, in case you've lost yours. Your project needs to be handed in during the first week back at school. Remember, it's up to you how you present your research. I hope you all have a wonderful summer holiday and don't do too much work! See you in September.
YER 5 FRENCH HOMEWORK IS DUE IN ON TUESDAY 19TH JANUARY
This is research on a French dish or a French chef, written on A4 paper and you will present it to class.
This does not need to be long. Enjoy!! Try making the dish if possible!
This afternoon 5PT enjoyed 4 Speaker's Corners (and doughnuts!!!). All the children produced excellent presentations. Throughout this term we have had the pleasure of listening to presentations from most of the class and I would really like to say a big 'well done' and 'thank you' to all those involved.
Aiysha: Syrian Refugees...
Anna: Dove Cameron...
Hannah: Mount Snowdon...
Haroon: Rubik's Cube...
Kam: Dogs & Cats...
All of these presentations were fantastic to watch and all the children should be incredibly proud of themselves. Well done!
Good luck to all those who haven't done theirs yet. I'm sure they'll be fab!
5P have proved that they ALL have exceptional dancing skills.
They worked tirelesly for a whole hour to put together their routines to accompany Beyonce's 'All the Single Ladies'. They had a lot of fun and worked together brilliantly, demonstrating excellent team-work and never-ending effort. I'm really proud of them all.
I'm really sorry that I haven't been able to add the rest of the videos!
Well done and thank you again for your hard work, 5P.

Mrs Pullenayegum (Mondays and Tuesdays), Mrs Alam (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) and Mrs Andreou (Teaching assistant, Monday - Friday)
Year 5 Homework:
Spellings - Children receive between 15 and 25 spellings each week. New spellings are set on a Monday and tested the following Monday. Retests are held during lunchtime on Tuesday for anyone who got more than 3 of their spellings wrong.
Reading - A target is set each Friday, to be completed by the following Friday. The target should allow for approximately 20 minutes reading per day. Please come in and discuss this if you have any queries about your child's target and/or reading book. Please sign your child's red reading diary to acknowledge that they have reached their target.
Literacy/Maths Homework - These are set every Wednesday and both are due in the following Monday. They reflect the work being covered in class for that week and are differentiated to cover the needs of the children in the class.
Times Tables: This is tested weekly, each Friday. Each child should be aware of the table they have reached and will sit a 1 minute test at the start of their maths lesson. Please speak to one of us for more detailed information.
