If you're on an iPad, download 'Puffin Academy' and then search for 'My Maths'. Log in using the school login details on your letter. Then enter your portal using your individualised details, which are also on your letter. Click on the two pieces of homework and make sure you complete pages one and two for each. You MUST remember to 'Checkout' at the end, otherwise you'll have to redo your homework. Let us know if you've lost your letter, we can give you another copy. As this is a trial, we understand that there might be some initial problems so let us know if you can't get it to work. Your homework needs to be completed by Thursday, as usual.

__FRENCH HOMEWORK DUE 29TH JANUARY 2017__: To be written in English so we can send it to our Pen Pals in Paris.

To research and write about a sports person of your choice.

About their life.

Why they chose their sport.

Why do you admire them.

Include/Draw a picture of them

Today was a very special day for Year 6, we travelled back in time to the 1940s! It was the most wonderful day with lots of different things to experience and we were definitely dressed for the part.

In the morning, we were back in a 1940s classroom with chalk and slate boards and paper and ink pens. We tried writing with both but some of us found it very tricky because we were only allowed to write with our right hands. We learnt how to use a stirrup pump, what to do during an air raid drill and how to put on and take off our gas masks.

We then did some mental maths, history, some geography and we even ended the morning by singing the national anthem!

In the afternoon, we made identity cards and a ration book in order to go shopping. We had a chance to become shopkeepers and shoppers using our ration books. We even experienced an air raid drill whilst shopping - which was very entertaining. We ended the day with Aisha showing us a real life gas mask that belonged to her grandfather!

Thank you to Ethan and Haroon's mums who helped us in the afternoon and thank you for all the fantastic outfits. You all looked fabulous!

The Year 6 Christmas party is on Friday afternoon. Please bring in some food to share, an outfit to get changed into and, if you want, some music to play. Thanks.

Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic time during our Shakespeare workshop today. We watched a brilliant version of Twelfth Night with a fun, modern twist! We were all involved and showed a little of our own amazing acting skills. All the teachers were so impressed with how well we behaved and listened to instructions and how we were so engaged in a complicated tale. It was a really enjoyable afternoon with lots of humour and wonderful talent!
