Walker Primary School Inspiring a love of learning in a supportive community

Autumn Term 2019

In Music this half term, children in Key Stage One have been busy learning songs for their Christmas production.

In Year 3, children have been learning a song called 'Let Your Spirit Fly'. They have been using the glockenspiels to play along with the song.

In Year 4, children have been having whole class ukulele lessons.  There will be a concert early in the Spring term so they can show off all their learning to their families!

In Year 5, children have been learning a song with an anti-bullying message entitled Stop!  Children have also had the opportunity to compose their own rap songs. They used rhythm grids to record their work.

In year 6, children in 6T have learnt songs about world war 2 fitting in with their topic and class assembly. In 6H children have continued with learning the Pop/Rock song ‘Living on a Prayer’ using the glockenspiels.

As well as all this, children learnt songs about celebrating Harvest for our Harvest Festival church service. Children also learnt Christmas songs for our Christmas church service. Some children had the opportunity to perform playing their instruments during the services. As always, the box beaters performed.
