BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE AT WALKER
From September 2023 all our Ivy Trust schools started learning British Sign Language (BSL).
The BSL curriculum includes, how to understand and use a limited range of simple words and sentences in BSL, take part in simple, everyday conversations in BSL, give and follow simple directions and instructions in BSL and give and follow simple familiar statements or descriptions in BSL.
Reception to Year 4 pupils learn BSL at Walker.
French in Years 5 & 6
Our Year 5 & 6 pupils learn French each week. This helps to prepare them for the Modern Foreign Languages curriculum at secondary school. Below is a document outlining the knowledge that they gain.
