Physical Education & Guidelines for Safe Practice
At Walker we offer a high quality rigorous Physical Education programme which inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in sport and other physically demanding activities. We provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect. Fun, enjoyment, confidence, competence and self esteem are at the forefront of our PE delivery.
We offer a wide range of curriculum enrichment activities including Netball, Rugby, Swimming, Dance, Skipping, Gymnastics, Tennis, Hockey, Rounders, Athletics and Football. Our pupils compete in a range of borough competitions and sports festivals. KS1 and KS2 children participate in daily Fit in 15 activities as part of our keep fit initiative to encourage children to live active and healthy lives.
In conjunction with the PE curriculum, the children have an opportunity to participate in numerous morning, lunchtime and after school sports clubs including Karate, Football, Dodgeball, Netball, Table tennis, Badminton, Cricket, Gymnastics, Dance and Cheer Leading.
