INSTRUMENTAL & VOCAL LESSONS – SUMMER TERM 2019

Lessons will start from Monday 29th April.  The previous week has been left clear to allow pupils to collect instruments from the EMS office and to sort out any queries.    Some tutors may ask to start earlier than this date in order to ensure they can fit in all 10 lessons and if this is the case we would ask you to ensure that all pupils are aware of the day and time of their lessons in the first week of term.

EMS varies the number of lessons given each term depending on the length of the school term.

In the Sumer Term 2019 all pupils should be timetabled to receive 10 lessons (unless otherwise indicated on the teaching list)

Instrumental/Vocal lessons for new pupils starting in the Summer Term 2019

Parents/carers may apply for their child to have lessons in school (subject to the usual minimum number of pupils requiring lessons on any one instrument and adequate school accommodation) or for lessons at our Saturday Music Centre (at Houndsfield School) or at our Tuesday evening Music Centre (at Highlands School).

Application forms are available from the school office and should reach Enfield Music Service office by Friday 1st March 2019

Free/subsidised lessons for FSM / Pupil Premium / LAC / Adopted pupils.

EMS regrettably has no budget to be able to provide free or subsidised lessons.  .

Procedure for processing applications for free/subsidised lessons

Before we can register pupils for free or subsidised lessons each term, we ask parents to provide EMS with a letter of confirmation that the school is willing to fund/part-fund the lessons for that particular term.    A letter is available from the school office for this purpose.

Instrumental lessons for teachers

If any teachers in your school wish to receive instrumental lessons this may be possible subject to the usual conditions regarding availability of tutors etc.    The standard fees apply.   Subject to the agreement of the Headteacher an application form should be sent to EMS and the form should be marked ‘TEACHER’

Application Forms are available to download from Enfield Council’s website:  www.enfield.gov.uk (search ‘Enfield Music Service’).
