Throughout Autumn 1, children will revise phase 3 sounds using the 'Little Wandle, Letters and Sounds' scheme. Please use your sound books from reception to revise sounds learnt in reception.
By Autumn 2, children will be introduced to spellings which will be sent home to be practised. Spellings will include sounds taught that week. In class children will practise reading, adding sound buttons and writing each spelling into sentences. They will be then tested on them (informally) the following week.
Spring 1 children will be introduced to sentence books. Every week children will be asked to write a number of spellings into a sentence. This is to consolidate sounds, handwriting, sentence structure and punctuation.
